How chip tuning works on a diesel Cadillac BLS
Nothing is bolted on in a diesel remap. The ECU's stored maps for injection quantity, rail pressure and turbo boost are rewritten within safe limits, and because diesels make power through torque, that is where the improvement is most obvious.

Ranked by power gain against the other diesel BLS engines (2 in total), the 1.9 D 180 is 2nd, 2 bhp below the BLS diesel average of 42 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average diesel remap adds 34 bhp and 73 Nm, so this engine's 40 bhp and 70 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
